Third grade curriculum that builds confidence through stories, creativity, and real-world discovery.

Third Grade Curriculum with Oak Meadow

Third graders begin to see themselves as capable learners and thoughtful citizens. Oak Meadow’s curriculum supports this pivotal stage with an integrated approach that combines classic literature, global cultures, scientific inquiry, and creative expression.

Each week offers a well-paced rhythm of lessons across language arts, math, science, and social studies. Reading and writing are woven through every subject—students keep journals, summarize stories, study grammar and punctuation, and write descriptive paragraphs and poetry.

Math lessons introduce multiplication, division, place value, and Roman numerals. Students practice multistep problems, mental math, and measurement in ways that support real-world thinking. In science, learners explore weather, geology, ecosystems, and life cycles through observation, experiments, and hands-on projects.

Social studies focuses on world cultures, ancient civilizations, and family heritage. Students investigate the legends, laws, and beliefs of early societies while mapping ancestral origins and exploring civic themes like community and leadership.

Art, music, crafts, and health deepen learning through watercolor painting, paper marbling, cooking, recorder playing, and guided conversations about growth and well-being.
